February in Luxor, Egypt is very similar to January, with an average temperature of 15°C high of 23°C and low of 7°C. There is also 10mm of rainfall over the month, but humidity drops to 50%. The amount of sunshine also increases from nine hours to 11. February is slightly warmer, less humid and with more sun, so to many people it may present a better climate to visit than January.
Depending on your attitudes to cultural celebrations such as New Year, February may be better or worse, as it's much quieter. There are two main events, the first being the Luxor Marathon during the middle of the month. It starts at Deir al-Bahri and goes along the West Bank, passing many historical sites as it does so. Tourists enjoy watching the marathon in person, and of course it gives a great opportunity to mingle with the locals and see more of the town. The second event is Union Day, a nationwide public holiday on the 22nd of the month. Similar to a Bank Holiday, it provides a time to relax with family and friends.
The Jolie Ville Kings Island five-star property is a wonderful place to stay during any trip to Luxor. Resting on the banks of the River Nile, it resides within 165 acres of gardens and beauty, boasting 647 rooms and suites. Each room and suite is built in a bungalow style, and there are also three Royal Villas, each with a private pool. The hotel also has three swimming pools overlooking the Nike. There are also leisure and sport facilities, a kids' club, gym, spa and beauty centre, and a night bar.
If the weather of Luxor is appealing but the destination itself is not, then Marsa Alam will be worth looking into, as it shares very similar weather.
