April is another warm month in Luxor, Egypt, with an average temperature of 25°C, comprised of a high of 33°C and low of 16°C. This is when the temperatures start to soar and midday heat may be too much for some people, but the low humidity of 35% makes it much more bearable. April, like most months in Luxor, has low rainfall at 10mm, and there are on average 12 hours of sunshine per day.
April plays host to Sinai Liberation Day, which is an important historical holiday that takes place on the 25th. It commemorates the Israeli withdrawal from the Sinai Peninsula after the 1979 Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty. Tourists are also advised to pay a visit to the Valley of the Queens, which is the burial spot of the wives and children of the Pharaohs of the 18th-20th dynasties.
