Puerto Deportivo Los Gigantes
A trip to Los Gigantes isn't complete without a stroll around the marina. Known locally as Puerto Deportivo Los Gigantes, this marina sees everything from small fishing boats to superyachts, providing photographers with some great opportunities. Here you can indulge in some retail therapy, have a drink at the bars, dine in the restaurants or just feed the fish which live in the marina. Boat trips, water sports and other marine excursions can all be booked from kiosks around the marina, too.
El Laguillo
If the beach at Los Gigantes is too small for you, spend a few hours at El Laguillo instead. These manmade swimming pools are located overlooking the ocean and provide a much safer alternative to the sea if the waves are a bit rough. There is also a bar-restaurant onsite which serves breakfast, lunch and drinks throughout the day, plus toilet facilities. These pools are popular with locals, so if you want to visit when it's quiet, make sure you go during the week when the kids' are at school.
