What's the Weather like in Lloret De Mar in October
October sees temperatures begin to decline slightly as the tourist season draws to a close. However, this is a perfect time of year to visit Lloret de Mar if you enjoy cooler, quieter holidays. October afternoons are generally still quite comfortable, with an average temperature of 22°C. The evenings and nights start to get chillier and now have a temperature of 11°C. Both temperatures are three degrees less than September. October is characterised by decreasing temperatures in the course of the month. The daily highs drop from 24°C in the beginning of the month to 19°C at the end; the daily lows fall as well, from 13°C to a cool 8°C. The average daily temperatures of 23°C of July and August are long gone. Now, the average temperature of a day is 17°C, which is ideal for outdoor activities. The sea temperature remains relatively warm throughout October though. The Mediterranean Sea averages 22°C, the fourth-warmest average monthly temperature of the year, after the three previous summer months.
Cloud cover in October is high and doesn't vary all that much in the course of the month. There are two peaks in both cloud cover and precipitation throughout the year in spring and autumn and October experiences one of those peaks. October 17th has 43% of cloud cover, which is a half-yearly high. It can be concluded that October is the third-cloudiest month of the year, after April and May.
The second half-year peak is observed in the amount of rainfall. October receives a total of 79mm of precipitation, significantly more than the 58mm of September. Only May and November are wetter. There are also 10 days with rainfall this month. On the plus side though, this also means that there are 21 days without rainfall. The probability that it will rain remains essentially the same throughout the month. October 1st has a 35% chance of rainfall; October 31st has a 33% chance. Four main types of precipitation occur in the course of October. Thunderstorms and moderate rain are most likely to happen, occurring on 31% and 30% of the days with rainfall. Drizzle and light rain are less likely and they are observed on 20% and 13% of the rainy days.
The length of the days is decreasing in October. October 1st is the longest day of the month with 11.43 hours of daylight. October 31st is the shortest day with 10.23 daylight hours. This is a 1.20-hour decrease in the course of the month or, in other words, a day-to-day decrease of 2.6 minutes.
More clouds, more rain and less daylight add up to much less sunshine. The average October day sees 8 hours of sunshine, two hours less than September and four hours less than August. However, there still are 8 hours of sunshine and with 21 days without rain there is plenty of time to head outside and explore the region. Just make sure to take rain clothes!

Things to do Lloret De Mar in October
Located on the hill that separate Lloret de Mar and Fenals, Sant Joan's Castle majestically overlooks the Costa Brava. It dates back to the 11th century and is one of the oldest remaining structures in the area. It was built to protect the residents of the coastal areas from attacks by pirates and invaders. The castle was destroyed many times during sieges and by a series of earthquakes, but was restored every single time and kept its military purpose until the 17th century. The castle became a Building of Cultural Interest in 1949 and is now a national heritage site. It is open to the public and offers a fascinating insight into the history of Lloret de Mar and life in the Middle Ages. Make sure to check opening times before you go, as the castle isn't open every day during this time of year. Tickets are 3 euros for adults and 1.5 euros for seniors, disabled persons and students.
The cool October temperatures make it an excellent time of year for an outdoor adventure. A fantastic way to explore the surrounding mountains is by mountain biking. There are several networks of mountain biking trails in Catalonia, connecting trails of varying lengths and degrees of difficulty. Bikes can be rented from several companies in the resort's centre.
