Bars and Restaurants
Treat yourself to a wonderful meal at Freu Restaurant during your stay. This fabulous restaurant offers an extensive Mediterranean menu, which is a little pricey, but the quality of the food makes it worth it, if you're looking to splash out for just one night. Dishes on the menu include gazpacho, prawn cocktails, lobster, oysters, fish, beef dishes, duck and so on. This classy restaurant's interior consists of stone, rusty iron, wood and crystal. It was designed by an award-winning architect and it absolutely is one of the better places to eat in the resort.
For tapas, Spain's signature food, you could go to the excellent Restaurante Bagua. This is a tapas restaurant and a lounge with an extensive menu consisting of all classic tapas dishes. Examples of what you can find on the menu are salads, hams and cheeses, gazpacho, Carpaccio, fish, shrimp, fried squid, duck, steaks and chicken. In the lounge you can relax with a cocktail or another beverage.
Things to do in Lloret De Mar in January
If you're looking for a day out suitable for the whole family, spend a day at Gnomo Park, situated just outside Lloret de Mar. This family-friendly theme park is set in a world of gnomes and is packed with attractions and activities for everyone to enjoy. There are adventure tours, arcade games, indoor playgrounds, a ball pool, crafts workshops, screenings of children's movies and an adventure golf court .There are also several restaurants and cafés scattered across the park, which are perfect for grabbing a bite to eat. This park is strongly recommended if you're traveling with children up to 12 years old!
The Museum of the Sea, also known as the Maritime Museum, is located right in the heart of the old town. The building, once owned by the wealthy Garriga family, dates back to the so-called indianos, people who left for Cuba and the West Indies and returned after they had made their fortune. It's one of only a few remaining buildings from that time in Lloret de Mar. The museum has five separate permanent exhibitions: Children of the Sea, Mare Nostrum, Sailing the World, Lloret after the Tall Ships, and Beyond the Beach. It's a wonderful place to visit on a chilly January day.
