Limoges is located approximately 250 miles southwest of Paris. It is best known for its ceramics industry, which produces the world-renowned Limoges Porcelain.

Because of this, a visit to the Bernadaud Porcelain Factory is a great way to learn about Limoges culture and history. A guided tour will show how Limoges' porcelain is created.

An interesting sight well worth visiting is the Gothic Limoges Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-tienne de Limoges).  This impressive structure was begun in 1273 and finally completed in 1888. It is located in the old part of the city, where you can enjoy a walk after your visit.

Musée Municipal de l'vêché, the most notable of Limoges City's museums exhibits enamelware from the twelfth century and continues with work up to the present day.

For those who enjoy races, The Regional Porcelain Rally, a major event for the area, will take place at the beginning of the month.  Drivers take to the roads in and around Limoges throughout the weekend.

Rock music lovers won't want to miss the Scorpions' farewell tour concert to be held at the Zénith de Limoges.
