Found in the north eastern Aegean Sea, the island of Lesbos is a growing tourist destination.  This Mediterranean paradise is close to the Turkish mainland and boasts thousands of years of history and culture.

The summer heat bears down on Lesbos during the month of July.  The average high temperature soars to 30 degrees Celsius with a low of 22 degrees.  The rainfall in Lesbos is at an annual low during July.  Visitors can expect only 2 mm of rain over a course of 5 days throughout the month.

One of the most notable natural wonders of Lesbos is the Petrified Forest.  Designated as a protected natural monument, it is made from the fossilized remains of trees.  A Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest provides additional information about this wonder.  The space-like environment will be a unique experienceothing like the shores of this island.

A wonderful place to dine on a summer's night is le Grand Bleu in Molivos.  Fresh fish, shrimp and calamari support the menu of local Greek cuisine.  The owner plays music during your meal, making this a wonderful, charming experience.  If you have a little too much ouzo during the meal, do not worry.  There is a taxi on hand to help you get back to your hotel.

Also located in Molivos, the Sun Rise Resort Hotel is a beautiful choice for a holiday stay.  The hotel boasts several reasonable room options for families, friends or travelling couples.  A Jacuzzi, pool and breath-taking views are available for all guests.  Best of all, there is a free shuttle bus that makes trips into Molivos four times a day.
