March sees temperatures begin to climb in Lefkada. There are now about six hours of sunshine each day, and daytime temperatures can reach a high of 14°C (57°F).
Evenings can be as cool as 8°C (46°F), but these temperatures are fairly mild when compared to many other parts of Europe at this time of year.
Light clothing would be fine for daytime wear but it would also be a good idea to bring some long sleeved tops and trousers for the evening.
Though much dryer than previous months, there is still a chance of rain so a light jacket or umbrella would be a good idea.
The sea will be fairly cold too at this time of year so although a stroll along one of the many beautiful beaches in the area is a great way to spend an afternoon, it is probably not a good idea to go swimming!
This is a particularly good time of year to explore the local countryside as the mild temperatures mean you will not exhaust yourself.
Ferries run to the nearby island of Meganisi throughout the winter months, and this is famed for its extensive nature and cycling trails.
There are many events happening in Greece during March to keep you occupied.

And depending on when Easter falls, the Apokries usually kicks off in March and is the beginning of three weeks of carnivals leading up to Lent. There is music, dancing, costume parades and masked balls.
