Things to do on Lara Beach in July
Hadrian's Gate in Kaleici
In the middle of the day when the temperature has hit the mid to high 30's a trip into Antalya and some shopping is great way to spend some time. Historically Turkey has a lot to see from Hadrian's Gate and the Castle Gate to many ruins in the countryside. The town of Kaleici surrounds the old Roman Harbour and the area is now protected under new laws. Historical buildings are preserved; ugly newer buildings are replaced as needed with buildings more in tune with the area. There are many boutique shops in the area and the entrance is framed by the impressive Hadrian's Gate. The triple arched gate has been used by thousands of people and carts and you need to be careful of the grooves in the middle arch. It is better to walk on either side arch into Kaleici.
