Temperature
Lara Beach is attracting many visitors this month as they relax in the hot summer conditions on the Mediterranean coast. August is slightly cooler than July but not noticeable so. The average temperature is down just one degree to a warm 27°C. Days can reach a high of 33°C and nights a pleasant 21°C as the average high/low temperatures. Evenings are great for eating outdoors and strolling along the beaches. Stay sun safe during the hot days and keep sun screen handy and your hat on your head. The main restaurant is a buffet and there is a snack bar for treats during the day and night. There are 2 disco bars and one is open air to take advantage of the warm evenings. Try archery and a range of water sports and table tennis, badminton and other land sports. The Kids Club if for ages 4 to 12 years and they have their pool and water slides and lots of fun and entertainment during the day.

Xanadu Hotel
A 5 star all-inclusive resort on the beach is the Xanadu Hotel and you can stay in a standard room, family room, villa or a golf suite. All rooms have air conditioning, mini bar, balcony or terrace with views to the sea, the pools or the gardens. The larger villas have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and are located in a luxurious garden area. The Presidential suites have 3 bedrooms and bathrooms, dining area and a swimming pool just for the use of the 2 villas. Eat at the main buffet restaurant with a children's section or at one of the a la carte restaurants serving French, Italian, Chinese, Mexican and seafood. Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival
The Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival is on during summer and you can expect to see some life size creations in the sand. Held at Lara Beach and starting in April, the exhibition lasts all through summer due to the mild Mediterranean weather. During the day the pieces are spectacular and at night a light show makes them even more interesting. Sand is brought in for the sculptures as the beach sand is too course for modelling.

Aynali
For fresh fish and seafood try the Aynali for Turkish and Mediterranean dishes overlooking the marina. Dishes include grilled fish and grilled calamari and fresh salads.
Findik
For great kebabs, pides and pizza try the Findik for fresh tasty Turkish and Italian dishes. Many tourists say these are the best kebabs on the coast around Lara Beach. The food is value for money and a great place to take the kids. The service is good and the staffs are friendly and will explain the dishes to you.
Things to do in Lara Beach in August
Manavgat Markets and Waterfall
If the beach is getting too hot try a tour to the Manavgat markets and waterfall. The falls are on the Manavgat River and tumble down a ridge for spectacular photo opportunities. Next stop is the textile market with many bargains before you go onto the town proper. The local market has many stalls selling lots of food and drinks, hand crafted items, budget clothes and local wood carvings. After a wander round hop on the boat for a river cruise and lunch onboard before mooring at a beach for a swim before you head back to your hotel.
