Chiesa di Santa Veronica
Chiesa di Santa Veronica, or church of St. Veronica, has been around since 1200 and you can explore its stone walls filled with history. The church is accessible from the town of Calde via a scenic path that takes you up in the hills surrounding Lake Maggiore. Once you get to the top and the church, you'll be able to see for miles. From the top, you can see the Alps, Lake Maggiore, and the forests that surround it.
Brebbia Pipe Museum
While it won't appeal to everyone, the Brebbia Pipe Museum is an interesting attraction in the Lake Maggiore area for those cool November days. The museum houses the pipe collection of Enea Buzzi and includes over 6,000 different types, categorized and organized by Buzzi himself. The collection has pipes from around the world, as well as books, magazines, and other publications written about pipes.
Apicoltura Veddasca
For something a little different during your visit, stop by the Apicoltura Veddasca, a beekeeping farm in the hills by Lake Maggiore.
