Things to do in Lake Garda in August
Isola del Garda
Follow in the footsteps of Francis of Assisi and explore the beautiful island of Isola del Garda with its historic buildings and stunning gardens. Located in the southwest of the lake close to San Felice del Benaco, this private island was once the site of a Franciscan monastery and later the site for the Venetian neo-gothic Villa Borghese Cavazza which still stands today. The real treat in August is to wander around the beautiful shaded landscaped gardens with their own groves of fresh citrus fruits, olive trees and rare plants.
Mountain Bike
Those who want to explore the area under their own steam should rent a mountain bike and explore the numerous trails that crisscross the Valtenesi region on the western shore of the lake from Desenzano to Salò and beyond.
