Visit Lagos in March to see the first signs that the summer weather is around the corner. March is usually the first month of spring in this area of the Algarve and offers a truly beautiful time to see the region.

Average temperatures of 15°C ensure almost every day is beautiful in Lagos during March. Even the small, sporadic showers that occur on an average of 12 days in the period cannot spoil this incredible climate. Only 57mm of rain are expected to fall throughout the whole month of March. This not only makes this month a lot drier than those that have preceded it, but it also means humidity stays at a very welcome 76%.

This is the ideal time for visitors to enjoy the Algarve without worrying about the heat of the peak summer sun. And with record highs reaching 27°C, it is possible to enjoy the beaches without the crowds that will be inevitable in the months of June, July and August. Of course, this is very unusual, but normal high temperatures this month do reach18°C, which means t-shirt weather for most people who visit the area.

9 hours of daily sunshine ensure the days are getting longer and the air is getting warmer. Even in the depths of night, temperatures do not usually fall below 11°C. And though record temperatures have been seen at just 1°C in March 2005, most visitors will have plenty of opportunity to enjoy Lagos after dark.

For those that do want to use the sea to cool off after a hot day of sun, they may still be in for a bit of a surprise. Average sea temperatures for March in Lagos remain at a mild 17°C which means only the bravest will be tempted by the waters. But when the sun is out and the weather is warm, even in March the beaches can still have their quota of visitors.
