La Rochelle is a notable holiday destination with tourists looking to enjoy the exotic beaches, lovely seafood and a warm weather. The Mediterranean climate of the sea port makes it a much visited tourist destination and June, as the beginning of the summer, sees some of the best weather for the year.

La Rochelle offers visitors plenty of entertainment, with special events and festivals held throughout the year. Not a month goes by without a big event. Throughout the year, international events including marathons, music festivals, movie festivals and fairs are all put on.

June brings La Rochelle closer to the scorching summer heat, however, this temperatures have yet to reach the highs of the coming summer months in June, so it is an ideal time to visit if you don't enjoy very hot weather. The International Film Festival is also arranged in this month at La Rochelle.

In addition to these amazing festivities, you can always enjoy the sunny beaches to work on your tan and go for boating rides from the harbor to the inland.

The historical sites, aquarium and two towers are also worth a tour.
