In July, La Gomera and the other Canary Islands celebrate the Virgin del Carmen's Day. The saint is honoured on all islands as the Virgin's statue is transported from island to island by boat.

If you'd like to relax and play a round or two of golf, La Gomera has a golf course with some of the best views in the world: the Tecina Golf course. This 18-hole course shoulders the ocean and has views of the other Canary Islands and even Mount Teide on Tenerife. The golf course is set up on a slope with the first hole on the top and the 18th hole at the base.
