Don't miss visiting Bellapais Abbey monastery. This ancient attraction is located on the mountainous side Kyrenia and showcases some fine examples of Gothic architecture of the 12th century.
Old Mill Cafe
The Old Mill Cafe is an ancient mill that has been restored into a museum/cafe. Tucked away in the side streets of Bellapais, the cafe serves an array of Cypriot delights, but what it does best are the coffee and afternoon treats like apple tart and ice cream.
Turkish Villages
A great way to spend the day is a drive out to nearby Turkish villages. Karaoglanoglu is located three miles west of Kyrenia, and offers visitors a few excellent beaches, bars and restaurants. Head down to the stunning Kervansaray Beach for some exquisite sunsets. Alsancak, located 6 miles west of Kyrenia, offers spectacular views of a pretty harbour, and easy access to restaurants and beaches. Four miles west of Kyrenia is Karmi, arguably the prettiest village due to its traditional terraces and stone arches. It's worth spending a few hours here, sipping a coffee or browsing in a local shop for souvenirs.
