Explore nearby villages and towns. Lapta is just 9 miles west of Kyrenia, surrounded by the Besparmak Mountains. The village offers easy access to beaches and stunning views of water and mountains. Lapta is renowned locally for its freshwater springs. The drive west from Kyrenia is also dotted with sandy beaches, bays and seafood restaurants. Near Famagusta, the Monastery of St. Barnabas contains one of the most impressive collections of Greek Orthodox and Byzantine Art. Spend an afternoon marvelling at saints and biblical scenes, before idling away the sunset hours in a cafe nearby.
