Weather Lowdown
The wet season is coming towards its end as November approaches, and despite the fact that there is one more month to go before the official changeover to the dry season, there is a little less in the way of rain on average. This particular month in Kuredu experiences around 14 days of the month which can experience a certain amount of rain, but this is decreased from the previous month of October, when the rainfall throughout the year was at its highest point.
The fluctuations in weather areas in the Maldives are so slight that you could say in general that the weather is steady, and even the differences between wet and dry seasons are small, with just a little more chance of rain at this time of year, thanks to moisture-rich air being blown across the Himalayas towards the archipelago.
You will experience an average temperature of 28°C throughout the month, which rises to 30°C at the hottest point of the day. Humidity is still high at this time of year, so do bear that in mind. Evening low temperatures only drop to around 25°C, so evenings out will be as tropical as day times, and you can expect around 6 hours of sunshine per day, to make your sunshine holiday certainly warm and bright.
Although the Indian Ocean temperature tends to hold steady throughout the year, we do see a one degree increase in this month, reaching 29°C so head out and enjoy water-sports, swimming, and diving, or perhaps take advantage of your hotel swimming pool for some serious fun in the sun.
A holiday in the Maldives is a great way to round off your year, and despite the fact it will probably be winter back home where you live, it is certainly warm and sunny all year around this paradise destination.
Where to Stay
Slightly more settled weather conditions during November means that a holiday in paradise is certainly a must do at this time of year. Kuredu Island Resort Hotel & Spa gives you everything you could possibly ever need for your paradise holiday, without ever really needing to think of anything that may be missing. On top of this, if you want that famous bungalow over the sea holiday we all dream of, then this is entirely possible here.
The resort hotel covers the whole island, and is open for guests over 12 years of age. The large range of entertainment options mean nobody will ever get bored, and the golf course means avid golfers can while away their days enjoying their sport of choice. Alternatively, simply kick back and relax within your villa or bungalow grounds, with everything you will need on hand.
If you want to stay somewhere away from the main resort, then check out Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, which are a very luxurious five star option, on the island of Kudarikilu, around 52km away from the main resort.
These beach villas give you stunning views over the ocean, as well as an on-site restaurant which would win prizes in most parts of the world, and enough entertainment to keep you occupied, without being too loud at the same time.
What to Do
A November holiday to Kuredu should certainly involve a fishing excursion or two. The main resort offers a variety of different trips, including the iconic night fishing excursion, where you head off beneath a twinkling starry sky and enjoy the total peace and serenity of the night. Big game fishing is also popular, where you head out into the open waters of the Indian Ocean, and aim for the big fish, such as tuna or barracuda. Alternatively, try line fishing with locals, where you can learn about this method, which has been used in the area for countless years.
If you prefer to sail into the blue during the daylight hours however, then check out a luxury sailing excursion. Again, the resort offers a variety of different options, but the most popular is either aboard Britt or Muna, both of which are luxury yachts to cater for your every whim.
You will sail around the impossible blue waters, and explore the main islands around the Atoll. This is a full day out, which includes a BBQ lunch. You can spot dolphins as you go, and simply enjoy the peace and quiet, whilst being waited on hand and foot. On top of this, you will also tour around the iconic Shipyard dive site, where a wreck actually protrudes up from the water's surface. These boats are small, with no more than 12 people aboard the largest, meaning you won't be crowded in the slightest.
Restaurants and Nightlife
The resort has plentiful entertainment options to keep you busy throughout the evening, however if you want to stay central, then check out Bonthi Restaurant. This is a buffet restaurant which caters for every kind of whim possible, so great for a picky eater in your midst. You will need to reserve your place, to avoid disappointment, and there are often nights with shows or entertainment, so check out what is happening during your particular stay, so you don't miss out.
For a more relaxed and laid back choice however, head to the Pool Bar. This will feel like a pub away from home, with a range of beers, spirits, and cocktails to choose from. This isn't a quiet place, but it isn't loud either, so it's ideal for a night out where you don't want to dress up too much, and you simply want to relax and have a fun night out.
