Weather Lowdown
If you feel like taking a festive break and spending Christmas somewhere different, then the weather in Kuredu could certainly show you a totally different take on the festive season you are used to. Look at it this way, why not trade in ice, snow, and freezing cold temperatures for something a little more tropical? Picture paradise and you won't be far wrong, and spending that special day in these warm and sunny conditions is a must if it is at all possible.
The wet season is coming to an end now, and although there is still a chance of 13 days of the month being affected by rain to some degree, this is falling in intensity and amount, and the chance of a sun-filled break is certainly on the cards. You can expect an average temperature across the month of around 28°C, which can reach as high as 30°C during the hotter parts of the day. Do remember sun safety at all times when holidaying in the Maldives, as the resorts are close to the equator, and therefore the sun is strong to say the least, especially for children and those with fair skin.
Evening temperatures only fall to around 25°C at this time of year, but you will notice that humidity falls a little now most of the rain has gone away for another season. Sunshine however, that is a totally different picture, with around 7 gloriously long hours of sun per day. The Indian Ocean is holding steady at 28°C too, which means beach time and enjoying the fun of the ocean is the best way to enjoy your festive break.
This is a wonderful time to get away from it all and relax in total and utter tranquillity, whether you're heading away with family, friends, or a loved one.

What to Do
A festive holiday during December is the ideal way to treat yourself to an end of year spot of fun and relaxation. For something truly special, head off island hopping and try your hand at spotting a few of those iconic Manta Rays we hear so much about.
This time of year, during the north-east monsoon season, is the ideal time to spot these majestic creatures, and Manta Point is where they congregate in their masses. TGI Maldives offer trips out to this part of the region, and are based within the resorts of Alimantha, Dhiggiri, Halaveli and Maayafushi. You will spot countless species of fish whilst trying to spot a Manta Ray, and you can even do a PADI diving course whilst you're there.
It's worth mentioning that Manta Point is best for intermediate or advanced divers, due to strong currents.
If you prefer to relax and stay in the resort itself, then you are well catered for. Perhaps you're feeling a little diet guilty after trying too much all inclusive food, in which case you don't need to ditch your work out routine, and simply head to the on-site gym instead. This is a state of the art facility, which has everything you need to give you that cardio, strength, and class boost during your break.
Of course, Kuredu Island Resort Hotel & Spa is home to one of the best golf courses around, and a few hours perfecting your shot is a fantastic way to spend the day. The sports bar is also a great place to catch the latest big sporting games from around the world, including big football games, whilst enjoying a drink or two.
Restaurants and Nightlife
A festive holiday should have something special in terms of dining, and in that case you need to head to The Beach. This is probably the most iconic restaurant within the resort, and one which promises an idyllic and opulent dining experience, both in terms of the food on offer, as well as the location and setting. The menu is full of local and international dishes, all with fresh ingredients. If you choose a seafood dish, you can be sure that the catch is as fresh as it gets.
Alternatively, enjoying your meal over the ocean is a fantastic option, and O Restaurant gives you that chance. Guests need to be over 12 years to visit this particular restaurant, and you will need to reserve, such is the popularity of the place.
