Batu Caves
With a total amount of rainfall of 290mm, November is the wettest month of the year in Kuala Lumpur. There are, however, plenty of ways to escape the rain showers. An absolute highlight is the Batu Caves, situated about 11 kilometres outside of the city centre. Set in a huge limestone outcrop, the Batu Caves consist of three large caves and several smaller ones. These caves are actually a Hindu temple and shrine and draw in hundreds of thousands of visitors and worshippers on an annual basis. Cathedral Cave is the main cave, 100 metres high and home to a number of gorgeous Hindu shrines. These caves are one of the most visited attractions in Kuala Lumpur and are absolutely recommended.
National Planetarium
Another excellent place to visit is the National Planetarium, one of many great museums in Kuala Lumpur. This one is dedicated completely to space science, housed in a beautiful blue-domed building located atop a hill in the Lake Gardens. It is filled with fun interactive exhibits, which makes it a perfect place to visit with children.
