Krabi Beach for May
Pra Ae beach (sometimes known as Long Beach) is the second beach on Ko Lanta Yai, just south of Klong Dao. It stretches on for a staggering 4km, making it ideal for leisurely strolls and children who need lots of room to play. Its huge size also means that no matter how busy the beach is, you'll always find the perfect spot to lie down your towel. The white sandy beach is littered with sea shells whilst the tropical coconut and pine trees which line the beach provide plenty of natural shade. This sea can sometimes be a bit rough, making it unsuitable for children but great for adults who love splashing about in the waves.
For a beach with fantastic scuba diving and snorkelling opportunities, you can't beat Klong Kong beach. Also located in Ko Lanta Yai, this beach is known for having shallow, clean and clear waters where an abundance of marine life lives. The waters are so clear that you don't even have to stick your head underwater to see the fish and other aquatic creatures you can see them if you swim offshore just a few metres. There are no facilities available on the beach, which means there isn't much else to do apart from swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and sunbathing.

Khaothong Terrace Restaurant is the closest you'll get to dining in a tree house. Located in Krabi Town, this restaurant serves a selection of traditional Thai dishes and fresh seafood, all of which are presented beautifully by friendly staff. Things to do in Krabi in May
The Emerald Pool is one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Krabi. Located inside the Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve, this large natural pool can only be reached by following a 1.2km trek through a jungle, past a number of smaller pools, waterfalls, streams and hundreds of tropical trees and plants. The Emerald Pool is filled with natural spring water which is the perfect temperature for swimming. The colour changes over the course of the day as the sun shines from different angles if you want to see the true emerald colour, you'll need to visit in the early morning.
For a glimpse at the real Thailand the locals experience every day, take a walk along Ao Nang Walking Street. This bustling street is lined by shops selling everything from raw ingredients, prepared food and drinks to clothes, handicrafts and souvenirs. There are also several hostels, fast food restaurants, bars and massage parlours located along the street. Whilst you can walk up and down, it's faster and easier to rent a scooter and ride along the street, plus there is plenty of parking available.
