In July, the island's average daytime temperature stays around 29 degrees Celsius with highs at 32 and lows at 26 degrees while the average sea temperature floats around 29 degrees Celsius. This month sees a lot of tropical rain that showers the island for 12 days out of the month. Despite the rain, the sun shines for a good 7 hours a day.
The whole island is a popular destination for divers and snorkellers due to the abundance of impressive diversity of marine life and clear waters. Divers and snorkellers can enjoy exquisite coral formations and if they're lucky - spotting sea turtles, tiger sharks and manta rays. Two top locations for diving in Ko Samet are Ko Kut and Ko Thalu; two small islands off the coast. There are numerous diving excursions available and tourists can take a boat tour around the island for diving off the uninhabited western side of the island.
