What's the Weather like in Phi Phi in March

Koh Phi Phi in March is a part of the dry season which begins in December and ends in April. Dry season in Koh Phi Phi usually also means high season as these are the times when tourists flock to escape cold weathers elsewhere for the nice tropical weather of the phi phi islands. The weather continues its rise in temperature from February and at this point even minor breezes are quite unnoticeable. Nights and days will continue their pattern of warming up as rainfall also begins to rise across the island resort. The average temperature in Koh Phi Phi during March is 28 C (82 F) which is mid-range and the most common temperature throughout the year.

March begins with highs and lows at around 33.8 C (92.8 F) and 24 C (75 F) with the chance of rain continuing its upward trend from February as it rises steeply as the month continues on. On around March 10th the highs will have peaked at 33.9 C (93 F) and the lows will continue to rise to 24.2 C (75.5 F) around mid-month making mid-March the hottest time of the month. The highs begin to cool down a bit at the end of the month at 33.5 C  (92 F) and the lows will continue their rise coming in at around 24.3 C (75.7 F) to end the month. For those who are planning on participating in watersports or just going out for a swim, the sea temperature is at 29 C (84 F) which is at mid-range for Koh Phi Phi. March is the beginning of higher sea temperatures that last all throughout November making it a great month to enjoy the water. The ocean is difficult to enjoy with much rainfall though, so the good news is that March is the third lowest month of rainfall with 52mm divided unevenly throughout 6 days. You can expect afternoon clouds on some days with short sporadic bursts of heavy rainfall occurring throughout those 6 days of the month.

March along with January and February have the most hours of sunshine daily throughout the year at 9 hours a day. Remember to be safe in order to have fun which means taking the necessary precautions such as staying hydrated, using sun cream, and sun glasses or a hat for adequate shade.

This resort is only 5 minutes from the pier and 1 minute from the party area, so there is no need for any expensive services to these places. The rooms here have more of a Western feel for those who want familiar accommodations. They will also provide you access to their resort pool for the small fee of 400 baht ($12.30).

Phi Phi Beach for March

Koh Phi Phi is known for its beaches year round, but even more so in March when the island is at some of its highest temperatures. There are beaches on the main island and some that are off on sub islands that you will need to take boats to arrive at. One such beach is Mosquito Island which doesn't have a very enticing name, but upon arrival you can see the beauty of its pearly white beaches and colorful coral. This beach is more secluded than the others being that it is not in walking distance, so whether you are enjoying the sun or the waves, this is a good place to relax from all the party vibes of main Koh Phi Phi.

If you are looking for a nice and quiet beach on Koh Phi Phi's main island, how about Loh Moo Dee Beach. This beach is typically quiet with pearly sand and lots of crabs dancing in the sun. There is also a hut from the locals which serves coconuts to drink out of and freshly picked mangos to eat for an enriched tropical experience.

Bars and Restaurants

Being that Koh Phi Phi is usually a major Spring Break destination at this time of year, there is plenty of nightlife to enjoy and many restaurants open. If you are looking for an authentic Thai food experience, try out the Pum Thai Restaurant. This restaurant has a hygienic atmosphere with great Thai dishes for a price range of $0 - $10 during high season.

Amp Café and restaurant is for those who want a nice view of the ocean and its beach front. The menu consists of entrees such as curry, noodles, chicken, and seafood that you can pick out and have grilled. If you do happen upon this place, make sure to ask for a marker and sign your name so that your experience can forever be remembered on Amp Café's walls.

If you are planning your trip for March, odds are you may be there on St. Patrick's Day. For a great holiday party head to Dojo Bar as every year they throw a huge party on the beach with fire shows and great music. Other things that should be noted are its beer pong garden, big screen TVs, and drinks specials.
