April is the warmest month in Ko Phangan, and although it rains frequently in the afternoon due to the southwest monsoon, the weather is still very pleasant overall, the sea water is crystal-clear, calm and warm at 29C, while average temperatures are estimated at 30C.
April is known as the month of Songkran, which marks the New Year in Thai culture, so look out for colourful celebrations.
Pay a visit the Phaeng Waterfall, the largest waterfall in the area. It features two different levels, and provides numerous tracks that lead to fantastic viewpoints. The waterfall is in Thon Sadet National Park and as well as soaking up spectacular views of cascading water, there is a wide range of flora and fauna to look out for.
For fantastic snorkelling - around Koh Ma island off the beautiful Mae Haad beach is a prime spot.
