Temperature
In April, the average daily temperatures is 29°C in Ko Lipe. This is the maximum average temperature in the resort, an extremely warm temperature that can also be enjoyed in February and March. Pattaya Beach
By far the most popular and populated beach on the island, Pattaya Beach is 1.5 kilometres of pristine white sand and the clearest blue water. There's plenty of accommodation available at the beach and snorkelling doesn't involve more than simply walking into the crystal-clear water. This is the beach closest to Walking Street and the centre of the island. If you're looking for beachside bars and restaurants, this is the place to be. In April, the beach is already much quieter than it is during the high season, but it's still pleasantly crowded. Quieter beaches are only a 10-minute walk away.

The fantastic On the Rocks restaurant is built literally on rocks about 6 metres above the sea and overlooks the beach and the small islands that surround Ko Lipe. Part of the amazing Serendipity Resort, this restaurant consists of three levels of dining space. The menu is made up of Western food, fusion cuisine and Thai dishes. If you're staying at the resort, you may even enjoy your meal or drinks on your private balcony! This is a wonderful place for romantic couples dinners, family dinners and group dinners.
Cafe Lipe
Café Lipe is owned and operated by a couple from Thailand and Switzerland. The café is a great place to go for coffee, sandwiches, freshly squeezed juices, homemade bread, tea, cakes, and arguably the best muesli on the island. They also serve dinner under the stars, their menu consisting of traditional Thai dishes. Bungalow accommodation is available as well.
Things to do in Ko Lipe in April
Chakri Day
A day that commemorates the current Thai dynasty is Chakri Day. It honours the first king of the current dynasty, Rama I, and usually takes place on a Wednesday. Businesses are closed for different traditional events and merits given to the king.
Snorkelling
Snorkelling on Ko Lipe is possible from the island's Sunset and Sunrise Beaches with plenty of marine marvels to keep your eyes peeled for. Also, consider going on a snorkelling trip. You can take a local boat out to many of the nearby islands, or head out further ashore for colourful coral reefs and a wide variety of marine life. With the rainy season starting you may want to plan for a morning snorkel instead of an afternoon trip, to avoid the post-lunch downpours.
