What's the Weather Like in Ko Lanta in August

As part of the 'Green Season' the weather in Ko Lanta in August ensures the island is quieter than the more popular months towards the beginning of the year. But though the wet weather can make some days a complete wash out, there are still many other days that are beautifully relaxing and full of warm sun.

When the weather is good, the water is usually beautifully flat, offering fabulous swimming conditions around the island. However when the wind blows, the waves can be more torrid. And while this is not ideal for those that want to swim, the mass of surfers in the area will adore the change in conditions.

August is also usually a time when even the restaurants that have closed their doors for the low season will start to open again in Ko Lanta and the neighbouring island of Khao Lak, ensuring there is always plenty to do.
