September, much like August and the two months before that, is a very wet month in the resort island of Ko Chang, Thailand.
The average temperature during this time of year is 26°C. Visitors are able to enjoy warm to hot afternoon temperatures that average 27°C (incidentally the lowest afternoon temperature of the entire year). It does get slightly cooler at night as temperatures drop to an average low temperature of 22°C, which is still quite high by all means. These temperatures remain more or less constant throughout the whole monthhere's no significant fluctuation at all. The sea temperature, which is delightfully high all-year long, averages 29°C this month. Swimming, however, is only recommended on calm weather days, as the heavy rainfall in the wet season can make the sea rough and unpredictable.
Although there are heavy rains, particularly in the afternoons, visitors can still get to enjoy some sunshine and as the island does still have 7 hours of sunshine per day this month.
The mornings and early afternoons are generally the best time of the day for sunbathing or outdoor activities; late afternoons and evenings are when the rain arrives. The total rainfall in September is about 533mm, which is a small drop compared to the amount of rain received in August (547mm). September is the third wettest month of the year and there are 12 days with rainfall. The chance that visitors will experience rainfall ranges between 60% and 68%, which is the highest percentage of the whole year, throughout September. Thunderstorms are most likely to be experienced, occurring on 40% of those 12 rainy days. Moderate rain is observed on 35% and light rain on 18% of the days with rainfall.

The east coast of Ko Chang is by far the quietest area on the island, not dotted with resorts and towns, but rather scattered villages and long stretches of beach. There's no white sand on this side of the island, though; instead the beaches consist of red sand. If you want to enjoy the warm sea water all by yourself or romantically with a loved one, there is no better area than this.
A well-established seafood restaurant on the pier of Bang Bao, Chow Lay has an extensive menu of mainly fish and seafooduests can pick their choice of live crab, shellfish and fish from the tanks in the front of the restaurant. This busy restaurant is pretty great, but it's a bit pricier than other restaurants in the area.
For Greek food, head to the appropriately named El Greco. This is a lounge bar, Greek restaurant and guesthouse, all under the same roof. Its menu features delicacies such as feta salads, homemade pitta, calamari and souvlaki. Guests can regularly enjoy live music.
Buddha View is an ideal place for evening drinks, serving a variety of cocktails, beers and wines, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. In terms of food, the menu is made up of both European and Thai dishes
One of the most fun things to do in Ko Changhat is, if you're not afraid of heightss swinging in treetops in the jungle at Tree Top Adventure Park. Located right next to the beach, this fun park offers visitors the chance to climb trees, walk between treetops, and swing from tree to tree using ropes and zip lines. This is a popular place to spend an afternoonefinitely recommended! Consider visiting this park in the morning, which is usually the driest part of the day.
Another hugely popular activity in Ko Chang in September is fishing. There are many tour companies that offer a variety of boating and deep sea fishing trips. One such company is the Sea Hunter Fishing Company, which has two well-equipped fishing boats that go out twice a day from Bang Bao. Species targeted include grouper, barracuda, tuna, mackerel and red snapper. The price of the trip includes either lunch or dinner; soft drinks, coffee and tea. This company also organise multi-day fishing trips.
