The shallow beach near Bekal Fort is appropriately called Bekal Fort Beach and is experiencing a boom of development. Current facilities include a children's park, toilets, picnic areas, and a walkway. Once you've obtained permission from the Forest Range Office at Meppady, you can take the scenic drive to the foot of the mountain before starting your hour-long journey to the top. The views from the peak are incredible and stretch out for miles. This is a strongly recommended thing to do if you're a nature lover and like hiking.
