Holiday destinations don't get much more idyllic than Kemer, in Turkey. This seaside resort is located on the Mediterranean Sea in an area known as the Turquoise Coast thanks to its crystal clear blue waters.

Famed for its stunning natural beauty and wonderful Mediterranean weather, Kemer is a popular holiday destination all year round, but it really comes to life in the summer months.

July is peak summertime in Kemer and the weather is perfect for a relaxing beach break temperatures are at their hottest and days are long and sunny.

The average temperature this month is 27°C but can rise to very hot temperatures during the day high temperatures average at a sweltering 33°C. While this sounds very hot, holidaymakers might not realise just how hot it is thanks to almost-constant ocean breezes, so it is essential that you wear plenty of sunscreen during your stay.

Luckily, things cool down a little at night so you can walk around and eat out comfortably. Average low temperatures are a much milder 21°C.

If you want to soak up the sunshine by the pool and return home with a golden tan, July is the ideal time to visit Kemer as this is the sunniest month of the year. Each days sees 14 gloriously sunny hours and there's a 93% chance of a sunny day.

While temperatures peak in July, the sea is still warming up and won't reach its warmest until August. That doesn't mean that it is cold in July though in fact, it's quite the opposite. The average sea temperature is a lovely 26°C this month which is more than warm enough for a swim.

Once July arrives, rainfall is almost non-existent in Kemer. There is an average of just 4mm of precipitation and a 2% chance of rain, so holiday makers are almost guaranteed clear, dry weather.

As you would expect, with almost perfect weather comes crowds of tourists in Kemer, and the resort gets very busy at this time of year, so visitors should keep this in mind when planning their holiday. If you prefer a quieter scene, spring or autumn may be more suitable.

Although it is peak season and the resort gets busy, Kemer is well-catered for tourists and you shouldn't have a problem finding great accommodation in July.

When it comes to dining, guests will be spoiled for choice, as there's 5 restaurants and 4 snack bars.

Hotel Mirada del Mar offers an ideal location for a beach holiday to Kemer, as it's right on the beach! Guests can get from their room to a sun lounger in just minutes, or if they prefer can while away the day by the palm-fringed pool area. This large resort also features a state-of-the-art spa, a range of restaurants and air-conditioned rooms, which are a must when visiting in July.

 

Hit the beach

With soaring temperatures and a bath-like sea temperature, July is the perfect time to hit the beach in Kemer. In fact, the resort is famous for its beautiful beach scene and many tourists go to Kemer just to spend their days on the beach.

The main beach is Moonlight Beach (also known as Ayısigi beach) but during the peak summer season, it can get quite crowded with tourists. For a more peaceful beach experience, head a little further away from the centre to Cirali beach. This hidden gem is a bit of a drive from Kemer but here you'll find a peaceful paradise and can even spot loggerhead turtles! The beach and surrounding area has a low-key, unspoiled vibe and is backed by a beautiful mountain range. Sun loungers are available for hire and there are a few small cafés where food and drinks are served nearby.

Eating and drinking out

After a busy day exploring Kemer (or just relaxing on the beach!) you'll probably be feeling hungry. Luckily, the resort is full of amazing restaurants, cafés and bars where you can enjoy a lavish meal or just grab a quick bite to eat.

Often rated as one of the best restaurants in Kemer, Harbour Restaurant must not be missed, especially if you love good seafood. The waterside restaurant specialises in fresh fish dishes which guests can enjoy while overlooking the boats in the harbour. A great choice for lunch or dinner.

For a memorable night out in Kemer, head to CiCi Restaurant in nearby Camyuva. This fun restaurant and bar has a lively atmosphere, with friendly staff and live music held on many nights. Get into the party atmosphere with one of their fabulous and fruity cocktails, or choose a dish from the vast menu which includes both Turkish and European cuisine.

Finally, Kemer is not famous for its club scene, but if you're looking for a place to dance the night away you'll find it at Aura Club. This large night club is one of the best in Kemer and is ideally located in the centre of the town. Party nights and music events are held here regularly.

Things to do

If you're looking for something different to do between beach visits, Kemer has many fun attractions and activities to try out.

Those travelling with children may find go-kart excursions especially fun. Kemer is home to a few great go-karting tracks with something to suit everyone, from kids to adults. Companies such as Kemer Karting offers services that will pick tourists up at their hotels and then bring them back when they are finished.

One of the most unusual ways to see Kemer's natural beauty is by horse-back and tourists can take part in riding excursions at one of Kemer's many ranches. Places such as Berke Ranch hold daily tours where you can explore the forests and mountains of turkey and find out more about the landscape. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced horse-rider, instructors will ensure you have all the skills you need.
