Kemer is a popular holiday destination located in the Turkish Riviera on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. The seaside town is famed for its picture-postcard scenery, its beautiful beaches and vibrant atmosphere.

Thanks to its location, Kemer has a typical Mediterranean climate with hot and sunny summers and mild but cool winters.

January is winter in Kemer and as such, one of the quietest months of the year. The weather is at its coolest and wettest for the year, however, thanks to Turkey's Mediterranean climate, the winters remain mild and pleasant and January in Kemer is still a more welcoming alternative to the British winter.

The average temperature at this time of year is 10°C with highs that can reach a pleasant 14°C during the warmest part of the day. Nights are the coldest time, with lows of just 5°C, so it is recommended to pack some warm layers to wear on an evening.

The average sea temperature is also quite cold at this time of the year at just 17°C, which is generally considered too cold to swim in.

January is also one of the wettest months of the year, falling just behind December. The month sees 208mm of precipitation which falls over an average of 13 wet days, resulting in a 38% chance of rain. Find out more about how these averages are calculated.

Despite this, Kemer is famed for its sunshine and January is no different. The month still enjoys 7 sunny hours per day and there's a 22% chance of a sunny day.
