What's the weather like in Kefalonia in April?
Temperature
Things get livelier in April on Kefalonia, as the seasonal hotels and restaurants begin to open up again. Temperatures are getting warmer, with an average of 15°C, and more tourists arrive on the island. The daytime temperature on this Ionian island in Greece rises to a high of around 17°C and in the evening goes down to around 9°C.
Record daytime temperatures here in April have reached a balmy high of 26°C and the relative humidity can vary from mild to very high humidity. The lowest April temperature on record is still a chilly 3°C, but conditions this cold are rare. Average daytime temperatures can increase as much as three or four degrees over the course of the month, especially over the last week.
Sunshine Hours
The number of average daily sunshine hours is on the rise to a bright ten hours a day. With warmer temperatures during the day and greater amounts of sunshine, you might like to bring some lighter clothes like t-shirts and shorts, though do be prepared as the evenings are much chillier. There is still a fairly high risk of rain, so it would be advisable to pack a light jacket or waterproof mac. Nightlife
Kefalonia isn't known for its nightlife, but if you're keen to dance the night away, the best place to head is the Bass Club, near the main square in Argostoli. With non-stop dance-music, both Greek and foreign, as well as guests, DJs and live music, everyone is ensured a fun night all year round. Other popular nightclubs on the island include Argostoli's Cinema Music Club and the four-level amphitheatre-shaped Kastro Club in Fiskardo village.
Assos Castle
The island's largest castle, Assos Castle is 22 miles north of Argostoli. A European heritage site, this 16th century building is in fact one of the largest fortresses in Greece. With two thousand metres of stone walls and winding passages, it's a great place for adults and children to spend an afternoon exploring before heading down to Myrtos Beach to relax.
