April is the hottest month in Kathmandu of the whole year.
The average daytime temperatures are around 30°C (86°F) whereas the average minimum temperatures are about 12°C (54°C).
However some nights can be quite cold comparatively, even dipping to freezing temperatures, so make sure you have enough warm clothes packed to protect you.
April is sunny and dry most of the time.
You can expect sunshine for 6 to 7 hours a day. During the day you will only need t-shirts and shorts; however the evenings get very chilly so it is advisable to carry warm jackets.
Another very important thing to consider while travelling to Kathmandu is the electricity load shedding.
The board during this period cuts off the electricity supply to the town for more than 10 hours, as there is a huge shortage of electricity.
As a result during the day it can be a bit uncomfortable due to the heat and lack of air conditioning.
However quite a few good hotels and restaurants have generators to keep their air conditioners going.
Also make sure that you charge your mobiles, cameras and laptops when you get the chance.
