Islantilla is a beach and golf resort situated on the Costa de la luz of Andalucia.  Andalucia is in the south of Spain.  The climate is dominated by the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Mediterranean.  In the south of Spain the Valley of Guadalquivir River forms a wide lowland.  The Sierra Nevada is also located in this area which is a mountain range which contains the highest point in continental Spain.  This resort is said to be a quieter alternative to other Spanish resorts and is not as hot as other southern Spain resorts due to its location facing the Atlantic Ocean.  The weather is more comfortable due to the coastal breezes which also make it a popular location for sport lovers, horse riding, water sports and golfers.  The resort boasts a 27 hole golf course, offering amazing views over the Atlantic Ocean.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
