June is a fun time to visit Hurghada as 'Hurghada's Got Talent' takes place at the Marina each year. Launched in 2010, this talent show sees locals compete for first place by showcasing their talents to the city. The event is ticketed, but it's worth paying out for, as this is a purely charitable event, with all proceeds going towards many local projects such as orphanages and special needs units.
Evacuation Day, on June 18th is a national public holiday marking the evacuation of foreign troops in 1954.
