The resort of Hisaronu is centrally located on Turkey's Turquoise Coast, a short distance from the bustling city of Fethiye in the district of the Mula Province. It sits on the western extreme of the Mediterranean coast and the southern extreme of the Aegean coast. Around 4km from the coast, the once sleepy villages of Hisaronu and Ovacik combined and, with the addition of hotels, bars and restaurants, now form a lively and popular resort with a distinctly British-feel. Tourists flock here to enjoy the many eating and drinking facilities, relax on the nearby beach and soak up the amazing weather.
Hisaronu is a perfect holiday destination, enjoying a typically Mediterranean climate with long, hot summers and shorter, milder winters. However, its location and geography means that the weather never gets too extreme. Hisaronu is nicknamed 'the mountain town' sitting at a higher altitude than nearby Olu Deniz, and protected by the surrounding Bagadad Mountains. This means that the climate tends to be somewhat cooler than nearby resorts, even in the hot summer months, which makes it much more comfortable and bearable for holiday makers.
Hisaronu has four seasons throughout the year, with summer being the most popular time to visit.
Temperature
The summer season in Hisaronu falls between June and September and like much of Turkey, is known for being hot and dry. Holiday makers can enjoy average temperatures of 23°C in June and highs of 30°C, rising to around 26°C with sizzling highs of 33°C in August. Temperatures can get hotter than this though. In fact, the highest temperature ever recorded in the area at this time is nearly 35°C, which is very hot indeed, so visitors should be prepared for this. However, with the higher altitude and cooling sea breezes the heat will feel much more manageable in Hisaronu at this time than in other areas.
Rain
Along with high temperatures, Hisaronu sees very little rainfall in the summer. There is less than 11mm of rainfall in June, while August is the driest month of the year with just 5mm of rain.
Sunshine Hours
Sunshine hours peak at this time of the year with up to 14 hours a day in July, the sunniest month in Hisaronu. June and August see just a little bit less, with 13 sunny hours.
Sea Temperature
As sunshine increases and temperatures rise in Hisaronu, sea temperatures are also correspondingly very warm. The blue lagoon waters close to the resort are around 25°C in July and 26°C in August. These are perfect temperatures for visiting the beach and taking a dip to cool down in the heat.
Temperature
As summer turns to autumn in Hisaronu, temperatures begin to fall and rainfall averages rise in preparation for the colder, wetter winter months. The weather is still nice enough for a late holiday though. Average temperatures are around 19°C in October, falling to around 14°C in November. Rain

While on average only 19mm of rainfall is expected over 12 days in September, this rises sharply to 113mm of rainfall over 16 days by November, and by the end of the season there are likely to be prolonged showers and possibly thunderstorms. Holiday makers should bring some waterproof layers, just in case.

Rain
