Weather Lowdown
When choosing to visit the resort of Hersonissos in April, there is a good chance of clearer skies and warmer conditions than if visiting earlier in the year. This is still not the warmest month to travel, and the summer season has not yet started, so if planning on visiting for the beaches, it is best to delay travel until June or July when the weather improves even more. The average temperatures are gradually beginning to rise during the month to around 15°C with average high and low temperatures of 18°C during the day and 11°C at night, so make sure to pack warm clothing for evenings out in the town. The highest temperature that has been recorded during this month in this area was 35°C, while the lowest overnight temperature at this time of the year was a cold 5°C.
It is a pleasant month to visit for outdoor activities as the monthly rainfall is getting lower, and the skies are becoming clearer. Average precipitation is 43mm that falls over 5 days throughout the month, and cloud cover ranges from 5°% at the start of March, decreasing to around 35% at the end of the month. It is usually wetter early on in this month, with 3°% of days seeing rain at the start of the month compared to just 2°% of rainy days as the month comes to an end. If it does rain when you are heading outside, make sure to be prepared, because the rain is often moderate or heavy and thunderstorms may occur.
The length of the days is continuing to increase by roughly one hour over the month, and sunrise is now at 7am and sunset at 7.45pm. Wind speeds stay fairly constant and light, at ° m/s to 8 m/s, although they can become fresher and reach around 14 m/s on some days. Humidity levels decrease as the month progresses, from around 8°% humidity to a drier and more comfortable 45%. When visiting this resort, make sure you look at the forecast before travelling and get the most out of your holiday.
