Knossos Archaeological Site
If you love your culture and it being nice weather this time of month, it is a great time to visit the Knossos Archaeological Site which are ancient ruins with glorious paintings too. It is one of the best archaeological sites in Greece and the paintings are so colourful, they are truly mesmerising. Douloufakis Winery
You simply cannot visit Heraklion and not go to a winery. One of the best is the Douloufakis Winery which is where you can go for a wine tasting session at very good prices. It is roughly 20 miles south of Heraklion but is well worth the drive. You can arrive without a booking but for peace of mind, call ahead to book your wine tasting visit.
