What's the weather like in Hawaii in June
June is considered one of the peak summer months in Hawaii, offering plenty of warm weather for anyone who visits.
Temperature
In the peak of the day, the thermometer can reach an average high temperature of 28°C, which is just one degree lower than the warmest months of the year. However, unlike the previous month of May, there are times when the trade winds that keep the air temperature cooler will stop and change direction. This does bring with it the chance of some more humid weather and the threat of hurricanes.
Though there hasn't been a significant hurricane on Hawaii in more than a decade, the chance of rain in June is slightly higher than in May. However it is still considered the third driest month of the year.
Rainfall
On average, only 43mm of rain will fall throughout the entire month of June. And while most will fall on the higher regions or in the rain forests, even if rain does fall in more low lying areas, it is most likely to do so at night. Hapuna Beach on the Big Island's Kohala Coast has something for everyone. When the seas are calm it offers a picture perfect location for sunbathing, snorkelling and simply having fun. But when the waves come, three foot high swells provide entertainment for surfers of any level. The beach is patrolled with registered life guards and an onsite café offers all the refreshments required. Bring your own food and use the barbeque facilities. Shower and washing up amenities are also available for everyone. There is a small fee to use the onsite carpark, but even that can't stop anyone having a fabulous day at Hapuna.
Bonzai Beach on Oahu is home to some of the gnarliest tubes in Hawaii, and possibly anywhere in the world, so it's not a site for amateur surfers. But for those that want to be challenged by the waves, this little hotspot on the coast of Oahu is a definite must. Also known as the 'Pipe' simply because of the splendour of its surfing tubes, even if you haven't the skill to get into the water, just sitting and watching the experts at work is always a thrill. But with thick, white sand and lots of bars and restaurants to entertain, even those that have never ridden a wave in their life have no chance of being bored.

It's a great place to meet friends during the day or sit back and relax on the way to Waimea Canyon. At any time, the friendly staff will make this the best cup of coffee you have ever had.
Dog & Duck
A touch of the Irish has come to Maui, and it's all courtesy of the Dog & Duck. Traditional drinks, authentic Irish food and great prices mean this place is always popular, especially as the island gets busy in June. In the day, catch up with the sport back home on their multiple TV screens. In the evening the entertainment can be anything from a laugh a minute quiz night to a live band. With new specials on the menu everyday there's always something new to try, but the shepherd's pie offers a fabulous taste of home. With friendly staff and a very warm atmosphere, everyone is welcome at the Dog & Duck.
Ono Seafood
Even if you're not a fan of Poke, you will be completely converted at Ono Seafood. Situated in the heart of Honolulu, this restaurant combines eastern flavours and Hawaiian freshness to create a feast for the senses for anyone who chooses to visit. The menu is limited to a small number of items, but the things they do cook, they cook really well. From octopus to tuna and freshly caught fish. There's no booking, so you will have to queue out in the June sun to be seated. But when you get to try the food, you won't be able to wait to come back for more.

Enjoy the warm sea temperatures in June via a boat trip with Trilogy Excursions. Based in Lahaina on Maui, Trilogy offer a variety of different boating tours which take in some of the best parts of each of the islands. Enjoy a trip to Lanai and venture into some of the best snorkelling destinations in Hawaii. Or travel to Olowalu reef to see one of the largest natural turtle cleaning stations in the area. There are sunset sails, dining experiences or even boats to charter for wedding events. A day spent on the water in Hawaii for any occasion is going to be a day well spent.
Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens
For a refreshing change to the usual day at the beach in Hawaii, take a trip to the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens on the Big Island and see a completely different side to this wonderful part of the world. Wander through the paths of the tropical rain forest and enjoy an amazing variety of different plant life and lush vegetation that makes up the surroundings. Buy a ticket in the gift shop and walk all the way through to the ocean and back. There are plenty of places to stop and relax along the way, including the magnificent waterfall that will take your breath away. The beautiful high foliage offers plenty of protection from the midday sun. But be sure to take lots of water for your walk. It is warm, it is humid and it is simply beautiful.
