What's the weather like in Hawaii in November

November marks the start of the wet season in Hawaii, but it also signifies the end of the hurricane season. This means that even though the weather can include more rain, the chances of extreme climate conditions are almost over.

Sunshine Hours

And though the 'wet season' has arrived, there is still plenty of sun. On average, Hawaii enjoys nine hours of daily sunshine in November, which is still a far cry from conditions back home.

Temperature

In these tropical islands, even when it rains average temperatures usually reach 25°C, with the hottest periods of the day achieving temperatures that usually average 27°C.  Indeed, it has been known for the Hawaiian climate to reach far higher than this in November, with the warmest ever recorded temperature of 34°C enjoyed back in November 2013.

Thanks to the onset of the wettest conditions experienced during the year and the high temperatures, humidity can be an issue for some in November. And though it is likely that humidity levels will be high, they do not usually reach the peak conditions achieved in very calm days in August. Stronger Trade Winds will usually keep the air fresher. And even if the breeze cannot be felt in the day, it is usually apparent at night, keeping the average low temperatures at around 23°C.

Rainfall

As the wettest month of the year, November can experience levels of precipitation that average 124mm of rainfall throughout the month, usually spread over approximately 20 days. However rain in Hawaii is usually very localised, which means even if it is raining where you are, there are usually other locations or other islands where the sun is shining.

Sea Temperature

When the sun comes out, sea temperatures of 26°C will keep everyone happy.

As one of the cheapest times of the year to come to Hawaii, the weather can be a little wetter than normal, but even then there is still plenty to enjoy in this fabulous archipelago.

Old Wailuku Inn

There are not many B&B's found in the most popular locations on Maui, but the Old Wailuku Inn at Ulupono is definitely one of the best. Originally built in 1924, this gorgeous structure has been lovingly restored to its original glory to provide a homely and very authentic place to stay. Seven rooms in the main house and a further three in the neighbouring cottage provide plenty of room for couples, families or large parties.
