What's the weather like in Havana in November

November is the last month of the rainy season in Havana, and unlike the preceding months, the weather is more pleasant and reliable. There is hardly a month in Havana that is not hot, however in November the temperatures begin to drop slightly. As well, throughout November the amount of precipitation and possibility of hurricanes is markedly lower. November can be a calm month in the Cuban capital city before the tourism high season hits in DecemberJanuary and February.

Temperature

The average temperature in November is a comfortable 24°C (75°F). The mornings in Havana are finally pleasant for wandering through Old Havana and other outdoor activities, and a small influx of visitors during this month indicates the slight drop in temperatures from its beginning to end.

After the unbearable midday heat of June through October, the average high temperature of November is a welcomed 28°C (82°F). Visitors can finally withstand the peak temperatures to relax all day on the white-sand beaches along the Gulf of Mexico. The average low temperatures also fall from October to November, with the average low temperature in November being 19°C (66°F).

Sea Temperature

The sea temperatures of the Gulf of Mexico also begin to cool. However, throughout November and the upcoming winter months, it will remain comfortable for swimming and all sorts of water activities. In fact, Havana is a great beach destination all year around. The average sea temperature in November is only slightly less than in October, and even the summer high, remaining at 28°C (82°F) throughout the month.

Sunshine Hours

There is plenty of sunshine in Havana in November, even in the later days of the month, with an average 8 hours of daily sunshine. This bright sunlight becomes a huge draw to Havana in November and the upcoming winter months for those seeking a sunny getaway.

Rainfall

In addition to plenty of daily sunshine, there is also very little precipitation. Havana has an average of 40 mm of rain throughout November, and only an average 7 rainy days.

Havana Hotels for November

After the fretful weather of September and October, the calm of November is welcomed across Havana. Guests at this time are treated to more temperate waters and lesser humidity, without the congestion of high season. It is a great time to stay at Havana's most iconic hotel, Hotel Nacional de Cuba. This historic hotel is located right on the water and offers views across the harbour and entire city. A striking white exterior sets the stage for Hotel Nacional de Cuba's exquisite grounds and opulent restaurants. The guest rooms at Hotel Nacional de Cuba will transport guests back to the time of old Hollywood and timeless grandeur.

The Boutique Hotel Ambos Mundos will enchant history buffs and architecture lovers alike. The hotel was built and opened during the 1920's and played host to Ernest Hemingway. Now owned and operated by the Hoteles Habaguanex group, Hotel Ambos Mundos continues to offer comfortable and classic guest rooms.

For visitors who want to stay in one of Havana's casa particulares, consider the Greenhouse on Prado. This casa particular is colourful and bright, just like Cuban countryside, and is newly restored and renovated. Guests at the Greenhouse are also treated to a wonderful breakfast each morning, which is the perfect way to begin a day of exploring Old Havana.

Havana Beaches in November

Tarará is a gated resort town located on the Playas del Este and approximately 19 kilometres outside of central Havana. While the white-sand at Tarará could be great for a relaxing day on the beach, for foreign visitors Tarará is more well known as the centre of diving and yachting near Havana. The marina at Tarará is constantly busy with boats coming and going on dive and fishing trips, and this is the perfect place to book a trip out on the water.

Bars and Restaurants

As the culinary scene in Havana expands, there are more and more fine dining options across the city. One that is consistently good is Porto Habana. Located on the 11th floor of an apartment building, Porto Habana offers a truly private atmosphere. The owners have retained certain architectural and design elements of the apartment that now houses this restaurant, and the result is a feeling that you are eating at a friend's. Balcony seating is available to enjoy the warm November nights.

Like Porto Habana, Paladar El Idilio is representative of the new avenues explored in Havana's culinary scene. While the menu is mostly Cuban cuisine, it is difficult to discern what will actually appear on your plate. Imaginative and fun, it will be wonderful to see more and more of Paladar El Idilio in Havana.

A night out in Havana would hardly be completed without a mojito or two. One alternative to the loud clubs, cabarets and salsa clubs across Havana is Opus Bar. Located above the Teatro Amadeo Roldá, Opus Bar offers an amazing cocktail menu in a lounge environment. It is perfect for conversation or the end to a romantic night out.

Things to do in Havana in November

The expectations of good weather throughout November, and a chance to enjoy Havana before it becomes overly crowded with tourists and visitors, means there are also a number of festivals visitors can enjoy during the month of November.

Music has been an essential part of Cuban culture and history. The Jo Jazz, 'Young Jazz', festival also takes place in November, which is a celebration of jazz and music aimed at a younger audience. There is also the International Jazz Festival, which starts in late November and carries on into December. The International Jazz Festival is arranged by the Cuban Institute of Music and the Cuban Ministry of Culture, and is characterised by Cuban jazz musicians playing at venues across Havana.

Stroll along the history rich streets of Old Havana, the largest colonial centre in Latin America. The colourful buildings, museums, galleries, churches and fun plazas make it a must visit. Experience the crumbling colonial charm you have seen Havana photographed for.
