October continues September's trend of lowering temperatures, with an average high of 30°C (86°F) and an average low of 23°C (73°F). October is slightly drier than September, with 162mm of rainfall, which is 2mm less than the preceding month.
There are however slightly fewer hours of sunshine, with a daily average of 8 hours rather than the 9 of September and 10 of August.
The sea temperature retains the average from July through to September though, of 29°C (84.2°F), so the numerous water activities on offer can still be enjoyed.
If you're wondering what you can do in Half Moon Cay, you'll be pleased to know that you will be spoiled for choice, and everything from relaxing to outdoor activities are covered. If you're particularly adventurous you can partake in the once-in-a-lifetime activity of parasailing over the Caribbean.
If you'd rather see things up close instead, you can enjoy a ride on a glass-bottom boat and witness the many sea creatures that inhabit the Bahamas, and if this puts you in the mood for the sea and its inhabitants, you can head out for some deep-sea fishing for grouper, snapper and the lesser-known wahoo.
To escape the water for a while and see what Half Moon Cay has to offer on land, join the Island Biking Tour to see everything at a good pace while getting the benefit of exercise too. Although if that isn't your thing, you can of course take in the 9 miles of beach by foot instead.
