What's the weather like in Guardalavaca in October
October is when the cold weather starts drawing back in though not by much. In fact, you will not see any change at all in the sea temperature from previous months, which stays at an average of 29°C. Sadly, the daily temperature on dry land does go down a little, which means that this month is the start of the autumn season in Guardalavaca.
Temperature
Of course, it does not go down by much. The average daily temperature now stands at 25°C, down from 27°C in the peak months of June, July, August, and September. There is still potential for the day to get much hotter, with peaks of 29°C going down to average lows of 21°C. It's not bad for a month that is considered to be cooler, right?
Rainfall
The rainfall is also coming to an end, though not quite yet. Here in this month you will still witness around 147mm of rain coming down across 10 days, which is still down from the wettest months and does represent a good percentage of 2/3 dry month. However, rainfall will halve when we move into November. Keeping an eye on the rainclouds is one of the reasons why you will want to check back on the forecast as regularly as possible. The chance of rain is a little higher up the coast in locations like El Rio, but you should still be on your guard here as much as possible to ensure that you are not caught out in the rain without any way to shelter.
Sunshine Hours
There are 8 hours of sunshine on average a day at this time of year, so there is still plenty of time to get everything done before the night draws in. Typically, the winter is not too dark or cold, and from this point of the year onwards you can still find a decent holiday opportunity even if the temperatures are no longer at their peak.
Guardalavaca Hotels for October
With October's cooler weather, the beach is not as important. But you will still want to try out the pool at Islazul Pernik Hotel, which is heated for your comfort and offers a great central hub for your hoiday. You can dine at a Creole or international restaurant, and enjoy refreshments at the bar whenever you like. There is also a shop and a travel desk where you can plan any excursions.
The Casa de Yodalis Trasobares is a great home stay where you can find a family ready to greet you and welcome you as one of their own. You will sample authentic Cuban cuisine and will also have ready guides to help you explore the local area.
There is also the Hostal La Casona Holguin, which offers a similar experience with a few upgrades. This three-room residence offers travellers the chance to relax in a private pool, and you will find a terrace on which you can look out over the surrounding area. They will provide all three meals a day if you require, and each room has a private bathroom.
Guardalavaca Beaches in October
If you want to hit the beach, try Playa Blanca. The average sea temperature is 29°C and this means that you might actually be warmer in the water than out of it, so a daily swim will be very satisfying indeed! There are only 36 rooms in the hotel which sits on this beach, so you can be sure that it is one of the quieter sandy areas around. You will be able to relax in peace, or enjoy the water without bumping into other tourists.
The area of the beach takes up 240 metres, and if you feel like going for a spin, you can even rent a scooter with which to ride around the vicinity. You can see a lot of natural Cuban countryside here, with lush greenery that extends right down to the shore.
Bars and Restaurants
At the Restaurant Maragato, presentation is everything. Dishes are laid out beautifully here with arrangements done to resemble animals or simply to add a touch of flair to the plate. You will enter through what appears to be a private residence, but once you are upstairs you will find a thriving restaurant. You can eat out on the balcony, and the menu focuses on local dishes like shrimp, prawns, plantain, rice, black beans, and salads.
If you just want to go out and dance the night away, try Encuentro. This bar is open until 6am, so you do not have to stop until you want to. You can start off in a small dining area and admire the art on the walls as well as the delicious food on your plate. Later on, enjoy the music and try a few drinks.
For a bit of excitement in a family-friendly atmosphere, try Restaurante El Aldabon. They have a great reputation for their food and everything is served at a good price. Their main draw, however, is the wall of graffiti where guests are encouraged to write their names along with the date of their visit. This vast wall is full with the names and signatures of countless visitors to the restaurant.
