What's the weather like in Guardalavaca in January
The weather in January is pretty fair, even though it is technically considered to be winter. The cold months are certainly very mild in this part of the world, which is what makes Guardalavaca such a great holiday destination all year round.
Temperature
The average temperature is around 21°C every day, with highs going as far as 25°C and temperate lows of 17°C. This is certainly still t-shirt weather! This means you will still have to watch out for sunburn even though it may be a cooler time of year: you can still burn easily if you do not protect your skin.
Sunshine Hours
There are an average of 8 hours a day of sunshine, all of which heats up the sea pretty nicely. Average temperatures there can rise up to 26°C daily, which makes it a lovely temperature for a swim. You may even feel chilly when you leave the water, since the temperatures are so high.
Rainfall
The mild climate here also extends to the rainfall. There is only 69mm of rain expected during this month, which will mean around 6 days of rainfall in total. That's not bad at all, and definitely means you can get away with your holiday in Cuba being totally dry if you are lucky. Rainfall in September is up to over 160mm, so if you are looking for a week or two without having to worry about big rainstorms, then this is definitely the right end of the year to be looking at.
This is however the 'coldest' month, so keep that in mind. On the one hand, it means you may want to schedule your stay for another month to get the higher temperatures. On the other hand, it means it is never going to get any colder than it is now which is absolutely great when you consider how mild the temperatures are. You may even beat the tourist crowds this month.
