Grasse, in the southeast of France, has a Mediterranean climate with exceptional summers of heat and sun and mild winters. The city sits just behind the famous C´te dâAzur, only 15km from Cannes. It is considered the worldâs capital of perfume and has been awarded the title of Ville dâArt et dâHistoire, a Town of Art and History.

Summer, from June till September, sees clear skies, high temperatures, and minimal rainfall. The average high temperature reaches 22°C in June then peaks at 26°C in July and August before dropping back down to 23°C in September. These are pretty ideal temperatures but remember that Grasse is not on the coast so does not benefit as much from cooling breezes. The heat can get up towards 30°C which can become a bit uncomfortable if youâre walking all day between attractions. At night the average low sits at a warm 15°C in June, peaks at 18°C in July and August, which can be a bit stifling, and gets down to 16°C in September. Sunshine levels are fantastic, peaking at an average of eleven hours per day in July. The long hours of sunshine and warm nights create perfect conditions for late dinners and night time fun.

Autumn, in October and November, starts off very pleasantly but gradually cools. The average high temperature gets down to 19°C in October and 14°C in November, whose average lows drop to 12°C and 7°C respectively. October sees many days of perfect weather with temperatures in the low 20s and clear skies, but it is also on average the wettest time of year. Rain falls infrequently, but when it does it usually comes in thunderstorms. November is much chillier and hardly drier. Sunshine levels remain pretty good for the entire season, getting down to an average of five hours per day in November.

Winter, from December till February, is mild and bright. The average high sits around 11°C for most of the season and the average low drops to 5°C in December, 3°C in January and 4°C in March. Frosts are common and day time temperatures could not be called warm, but if youâre coming from the UK youâre sure to feel the difference. Sunshine levels are exceptional for winter in the northern hemisphere at an average of five hours per day (London sees a measly one hour per day in December). Snow sometimes falls but it is rare and tends not to settle. Preciptation usually falls as rain. While the amount that falls is lower than in autumn, it tends to rain just as frequently.

Spring, from March till May, sees the return of the heat and the sun. It heats up through the teens and by mid May summer-like weather is the norm. The average high gets to 13°C in March, 15°C in April and 19°C in May. It still gets pretty cold at night so donât go without your coat. Rainfall levels remain about the same but the clouds are less common. Sunshine levels increase to six hours per day in March, seven in April and eight in May. The end of spring is a fantastic time to visit Grasse due to its mild summer weather with warmth and bright skies.
