Golf del Sur,with its proximity to a golf course and marina, has become a haven for many sports enthusiasts around Europe.

Set in the coastal town of Tenerife in the picturesque Canary Islands, this holiday is a calm spot surrounded by the bustling Los Cristianos and Playa de las Am©ricas.

Golf del Suris in the municipality of San Miguel de Abona, with its hot and dry climate making it an ultimate golfing resort.

When visiting Golf del Sur, youâll enjoy temperatures ranging from 18°C in the winter to about 24°C in summer.  The climate is known for providing perpetual spring and summer weather.

On the southern coast of Tenerife, Golf del Sur experiences cooling trade winds from the North Atlantic. Tourists enjoy the warmth of sunshine throughout the summer months with the length of sunlight hours peaking at ten hours.

Autumn, like the spring, is a popular time to visit with those looking for warm weather that is slightly cooler than the summer heat, with fewer crowds of tourists.  The weather changes are minimal and the six or seven hours per day of sunshine are no hindrance to a complete day of vacationing fun.

The winter months bring with them more rainfall, with light showers and the odd stormy day. The good news is that this weather pattern is short lived and usually doesnât last the entire day. Guests continue to enjoy daily sunshine of around six hours for the entire winter season, and are able to enjoy comfortable sea temperatures as well for those who like to swim.

While the weather makes this an ideal vacationing retreat, the area has experienced extended drought during the summer months, resulting in quickly spreading forest fires fuelled by strong winds. As recently as 2007, many thousands of acres of forest and 900 homes in Tenerife and Gran Canaria were destroyed. While certainly not the norm, the island can experience a wind originating in the Sahara known as the sirocco, which has been known to reach hurricane proportions and bring dust storms to Tenerife.

Most golfing resorts around the world offer a myriad of amenities, environments and ambiance. To aid you in your choice, exploring the weather could be the deciding factor for maximum holiday enjoyment. When making your destination decision, comparing other resorts like Majorca and Malta can be helpful. Many of them too have had occurrences of weather anomalies. For example, Malta has seen record high temperatures during 1999 reaching 44° C. They have also had hail storms and occasional ground frost.
