Playa de Benijo

Bars and Restaurants

El Rinconcito de Hilario

The El Rinconcito de Hilario, known as "The corner of Hilary, in San Miquel de Abona, may be hard to find, but once there you will be greeted by the owner and enjoy traditional island dishes, prepared in an unique and special manner. Start with the homemade garlic bread, and then move to a squid and octopus salad with chickpeas. Try the tenderloin sautéed veal, fresh fish from the sea that day, or lobster. Dessert is a delicate cake with caramel called "Dust Canario."

Antico Caffee

Antico Caffee, in Costa Adeje, is a small, Italian restaurant so popular that you may need to book a week in advance, but it is worth the wait. Try the squid or garlic prawns starter, and then follow it with the steak peppercorn, seared tuna, or the truffle ravioli. This restaurant is so small that most of the tables are outside on the terrace, providing diners with a wonderful sunset view over the ocean.

La Tasquita de Nino

La Tasquita de Nino, in San Miquel de Abona, is a family owned, out of the way, very small restaurant with only eight tables. The waiter carefully guides you through the menu since some of the local varieties of local ingredients may be unfamiliar to diners from outside the area. There are a variety of Canarian tapas, and unusual items like fried octopus with potato, or bananas and bacon, all served with local wine. Try the hot custard with cinnamon for dessert.
