What's the Weather like in Golf del Sur in October

While the rest of the northern hemisphere begins to experience the signs of the approaching autumn, visitors to Golf del Sur in Tenerife will be hard pressed to notice any changes. Temperatures on both land and in the sea remain almost constant, the sun almost always shines, the winds remain gentle and calm, and the waves only slightly increase in their vigour.

Temperature

Tenerife's October weather remains perfect with little change from the previous month.The average temperature is 24ºC (74ºF), with the high averaging 27ºC (81ºF), and the average low dropping only to 20ºC (68ºF), still ideal in anyone's book.

Humidity

The dew point, a better measurement of comfort, only drops a degree to 16ºC (60ºF), with the relative humidity increasing slightly to 64%, deemed comfortable on the interpretive chart. The record high on October 1st was 34ºC (93ºF) in 1996, and the record low was 18ºC (64ºF).

Rainfall

There are only five rainfall days with an accumulation of 13mm. Winds average about 11 mph, with an occasional gust reaching 19 mph.

The Hotel Carel, located near the white sandy beach in the small fishing village of El Medano, is a small, family-run hotel in a great location. The rooms have balconies with a view towards the beach. There is a terrace where Mt. Teide can be seen in the distance. The hotel is close to shops, restaurants, bars, a supermarket, and a bus stop just 50 yards away. There is a restaurant and bar and breakfast is served in the room. Other amenities is room services, tour desk, gift shop, and elevator.

Hotel Riu Palace Tenerife

The Hotel Riu Palace Tenerife, in Adeje, is a all-inclusive, luxury resort with beautiful gardens, gorgeous views, and a casino. All meals and beverages are included. The complex hosts many restaurants and bars including the Perico Chicote lobby piano bar, the Los Rosarios bar with terrace, the La Plaza sports bar, the Saona Pavilion bar, and a pool with swim up bar. There are four tennis courts, a gym and sauna and introductory scuba lessons in the pool.

Kn Columbus Hotel

The Kn Columbus Hotel, in Playa de las Americas, near the golf course, features four outdoor swimming pools (one for children), a hot tub and a fitness center. This apartment style hotel is located next to the Antonio Dominquez Sports Stadium and is only a short walk to the beach. Each room has a balcony, kitchenette with refrigerator, stove and toaster. The property has 24-hour front desk, ticket service, beauty salon and an ATM. Don't miss the entertainment featuring the animal show, or the Charlie Chaplin comedy act.

Casa Giuliana

Casa Giuliana, with it's rustic design and hardwood floors, in Granadilla de Abona, offers an outdoor pool, garden and terrace. It is a family run hotel surrounded by nature with beautiful flowers and plants. There is an Italian restaurant on the property where the food never stops coming.

Playa de las Vistas Beach

The Playa de las Vistas beach, at Los Cristianos, is a pleasant strip of sand located along with long promenade of the village. It offers plenty of sun beds and is near many hops, restaurants, and bars, all lively both day and night. The water is a little more choppy than other areas on the island but the sunset view is spectacular.

Mickey O'Malley's

Micky O'Malley's, in Costa Adeje, is an authentic Irish pub that serves great food. Mickyho was actually born in Londonnd his wife Marina bought this bar in 2007 and transposed it into a destination for British ex-pats. The bar seats 56 but, just like in the old country, many more squeeze in. Marina does all the cooking and and their Sunday roast is their specialty.

Aries Bar & The Gallipot Restaurant

The Aries Bar & The Gallipot Restaurant, also in San Miquel de Abona, is an authentic, family run Irish bar. It features an open view of the kitchen where you can see the head chef, a Welshman named Dafydd, at work. Try the steaks, salmon, scampi, or the burgers. The bar is quaint and welcoming reminiscent of the old Irish saying "Cead Mile Failte or a hundred thousand welcomes."

Harriet's Tea Room and Restaurant

Harriet's Tea Room and Restaurant is actually two tea rooms in the Playa Fanabe neighbourhood of Costa Adeje. Fully British in every manner, they offer breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea served in china and teapots. They make their own cakes plus serve traditional English meals from roast lamb to liver and onions. There is lemon meringue pie for dessert.

Feel Tenerife

Feel Tenerife is a privately themed site seeing tour taking you away from the conventional tourist attractions. Lead by knowledge and experienced guides, this eight hour journey by minibus will show you natural landscape, historical and cultural landmarks and feature an authentic lunch at La Cubana, a small restaurant frequented by local residents. The tour leaves from Santa Cruz.

Magma Arte and Congresos Convention Centre

The Magma Arte and Congresos Convention Centre, in Costa Adeje, is a destination for an array of events including live theater, concerts, art exhibits, meetings, and even weddings. The modern building is avant-gard in its design based on a design inspired by the island's active volcano, Mt. Teide and its lava flow. There are nineteen rooms, including three main large spaces that can hold from 20 to 2000 visitors. Other features include lounges, relaxation rooms, catering, plus host and decoration services.

Buenavista Golf Resort

Buenavista Golf Resort, near the north coast, was designed by the PGA champion Severiano Ballesteros and is considered the "Pebble Beach of Tenerife." While it does take some travel time to reach it from the Golf del Sur area, avid golfers will not want to miss this experience. It's unique layout runs along the rugged coast with volcanic rock on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other challenging players of all skill levels.
