What's the Weather like in Golf del Sur in August
The summer continues and the many tourists who flock to the Golf del Sur area of Tenerife will not be disappointed. The conditions remain steady and unchanged with warm days and nights, gentle winds, and little rain, allowing visitors to be confident in making their plans for golfing, boating, or hiking.
Temperature
August weather in Golf del Sur, despite being the warmest month of the year, is almost perfect with the average temperature reaching 25ºC (77ºF), where the average high is 29ºC (84ºF) and average low is 21ºC (70ºF). It does not get much better than that.
Humidity
The dew point, a better measurement of comfort, increases slight to 16ºC (61ºF) and the relative humidity is 57%, still in the comfortable range. The record high for August 1st was 33ºC (91ºF) in 2008 and record low of 20ºC (67ºF) in 2014, certainly not extreme by any measure.
Rainfall
The daily rainfall in only one, with a small accumulation of 4mm. August is the windiest month but it is still only about 14 mph with a possible daily maximum of 24 mph.

The average sunshine hours now begin to decrease but is still 13. August begins to see a slight increase in cloud cover as the skies are overcast, mostly, cloudy, or partly cloudy about 24% at the beginning of the month, but increasing to 30% by the end.

The Sol Princesa Dacil in Los Cristianos, is a Flintstones-themed hotel near the beach. Other property features include mini-golf, a game room and playground, all only a few minutes walking to down town Los Cristianos.
Hotel Rural 4 Esquinas
The boutique Hotel Rural 4 Esquinas, in San Miquel de Abona, with its white washed walls and vibrantly painted shutters, gives a sense of the historic sense of Tenerife. This small hotel is filled with beautiful antiques, and includes a roof terrace surrounded by stone walls covered with ivy that climbs to the roof. Try the pork filet with apple or pumpkin soup in the excellent restaurant. Other facilities include a barbecue area, a solarium, bicycle rental, massage, a library and proximity to hiking trails.
Hotel Alta Montana
Tucked against the mountains, above the clouds, is the Hotel Alta Montana, located on an estate in Vilaflor, just fifteen minutes from Mount Teide National Park. This small hotel features a traditional, yet stylish look, with wooden furniture and tile floors. Surrounded by fruit trees and vineyards, there is easy access to the countryside as bicycles, horseback riding, and hiking trails are all readily available. There is a restaurant and bar on the premises, too.
Caledonia Park Hotel
The Caledonia Park Hotel, in Adeje, is just yards from a sea front promenade and near the Playa la Pina beach. The rooms are modern, with either a balcony or terrace, many with views of the pool or garden. They feature and a well equipped kitchenette with refrigerator, dining and lounge area, plus satellite television, and bathroom with shower. There is a large outdoor pool, children's pool, game room, solarium, tennis and squash courts, a playground, and laundry services.

La Pinta
La Pinta is a sandy beach with calm waters. It is located near the marina Puerito Colon and offers sunbeds, showers, ample parking, and is close to many restaurants and bars.
Bars and Restaurants
Jr's Sports Bar
The authentic British Jr's Sports Bar, in Golf del Sur, is an ex-pat's destination with 13 plasma televisions showing major sporting events and serving a large selection of drinks. The country kitchen style restaurant features salmon with cabbage, peas, and carrots, served with a mini-Guinness; sausages with mashed potatoes and gravy, and beer battered fish and chips. The salads are fresh and the desserts include chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. The restaurant is next door to the bar but it combined making it ideal for families with children.
Plaza Breeze
Plaza Breeze, also in Golf del Sur, offers a wide variety of dining options, including special early pricing and a fixed price three course meal. Start with the prawn cocktail then try the pepper steak and chips which includes two vegetables and dessert. Also worth sampling is a chicken in mushroom sauce with choice of potatoes and mixed vegetables, or the steak and chicken fajitas. Desserts include an ice cream sundae with honey and walnuts. Entertainment is featured nightly at the piano bar.
Casa Tagoro
The recently re-opened Casa Tagoro in Los Cristianos, is quickly making a name for itself as a dining destination. The owners Karin and Gerhard Brodtrager from Germany and Austria, have imported some of their home recipes but the menu and atmosphere is international. The dining room is terracotta, greenery, and display paintings of all styles. Start with the bread served with sea salt, homemade butter, olive oil and crab meat cream, or their special tapas such as fried peppers with ocean salt. Entrees include pork served with dumplings, sauerkraut and gravy with apple strudel or molten chocolate pudding with berry sauce for dessert.
Things to do in Golf del Sur in August
Horse Riding
Spend ninety minutes riding horses and ponies through the Tenerife mountains, with its spectacular views, with Horse Riding Adventures in Tenerife. It is a British owned and operated horse farm providing guided expeditions for rides of all skill levels and ages; from as young as four years old. Photos are taken and posted on the farm's Facebook page. Transportation is provided from your hotel.
Medieval Night Castillo San Miquel
The Medieval Night Castillo San Miquel takes you back in time where to watch knights demonstrate their horsemanship and jousting skills. You will be greeted personally by your hosts: the king and queen of the castle who, after providing you with a coloured smock so you know which knight is your defender, invite you for a meal of a soup slurped from the dish and an entire roast chicken you eat with your hands, and a red wine served in a goblet. Photos of your visit and souvenirs are available.
