Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located on the southern tip of Spain, just around the coast from Marbella and a short boat ride over the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco. As a result, it enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters.
The weather is starting to cool down considerably in November, however the weather is still pleasant in Gibraltar, unlike some other parts of Europe. This makes Gibraltar a popular destination for holiday makers looking to escape the cold weather and enjoy a relaxing break in November. Outside of peak season, the peninsula will be much quieter than the busy summer months.

Hit the beach
The weather is starting to cool down in November, but holiday makers should still be able to enjoy Gibraltar's beaches which will be much quieter than during peak season. There are six beaches in Gibraltar on both sides of the peninsula.
If you're looking for sun head to Eastern Beach. This long sandy beach enjoys all day sunshine thanks to its location away from the shadows of The Rock. Beach goers can enjoys views out over the Alboran Sea.
Also on the east side of Gibraltar, Catalan Bay beach is small but beautiful. The area was once home to fishermen and their pastel painted houses still line the beach today, creating a pretty backdrop. Catalan Bay is known for its fresh seafood restaurants.
Eating and drinking
While November is the start of quiet season, in Gibraltar, there are still plenty of great eating and drinking options that cater to both tourists and locals.
With water on both sides, Gibraltar is well known for its delicious fish. One of Gibraltar's best seafood restaurants is Blue Anchor which is centrally located in the old city, just a short walk from the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Crowned. The restaurant serves everything a seafood lover could want, from prawns and mussels to octopus and mixed seafood paella, all at reasonable prices.
The Landings Restaurant occupies an amazing location, overlooking the yachts in Queensway Quay Marina. With a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence, guests can expect a great dining experience here. The Landings serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a menu that features British, international and Caribbean dishes.
For a taste of Italy in Gibraltar, head to 4 Stagioni Restaurant on Rosia Road. Here you will find homemade pizza and pasta dishes alongside a fantastic wine menu. A great place for a relaxing evening meal.
Things to do
Visitors to Gibraltar can spend a day shopping and saving some money. Gibraltar is a VAT and Duty Free shopping area so many visitors find that they can get good deals on everything from clothing to electronics and jewellery. Main Street is where most of Gibraltar's shops are located.
Gibraltar Museum is well worth a visit on days when the weather is cool or wet. As well as numerous exhibitions covering periods such as the Phoenician, Roman and British periods in Gibraltar's history, there is also a replica of the Gibraltar skull.
Another important landmark in Gibraltar is St Michael's cave. The network of limestone caves can be explored on a guided tour. Used by the military throughout history, the caves are now one of Gibraltar's most popular tourist attractions.
