Things to do in Geneva in September

The UN office and the Broken Chair

Geneva, Switzerland, has been in the center of international relations since before the World War II. Back then, it housed the headquarters of the League of Nations. Since 1966, the city is home to the United Nations headquarters.

You can take a guided tour to visit the headquarters' premises, which reveal various chambers, the assembly hall and many works of art. Outside, the Broken Chair, with 3 intact and 1 broken leg, is one of the main landmarks. 12 meters tall, the monumental chair symbolizes the opposition to the use of mines and cluster bombs.

Park La Grange

Park La Grange is a verdant oasis next to Lake Geneva in Ville de Genève. It boasts a magnificent garden featuring around 200 rose varieties. More so, the garden won the Award of Garden excellence, granted by the World Federation of Roses Societies. Park La Grange also has a children's playground, beautiful manor house, fountains, a few theatres and Wi-Fi hotspots. In September, the garden is open from 7 am to 9 pm.
